This time last year, after a month on the road, Kim and I were pulling up to my driveway with a van full of dogs, basketball hoops, photography equipment, thousands of photographs and a dream that I would publish my book in a year.
My book 'hoop: the american dream™' is available for preorder now on Amazon and Barnes&Noble. The website, hoop the american dream is up and running. I have started a blog to document my adventure. Go check it all out!

My dream!
My new book, hoop the american dream, is on sale now on Amazon! I traveled across American photographing unique basketball hoops and childhood hoops of some of the most revered players of our time! (Shaquille O'Neal, LeBron James, Jerry West (he wrote my forward!) and many more! They gave me quotes and childhood memories to go along with some of the photos. It's a beautiful coffee table book and a portion of the proceeds are going to the Pat Summitt Foundation, supporting the fight against Alzheimer's (she is also in the book).
Here's where to pre-order the book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1576876713

17 years ago today!
Casey McNerthney has this piece on seattlepi.com today about my photo that even non-sports fans remember. Ken Griffey Jr. flashing a huge smile at the bottom of a Mariners pile after they beat the New York Yankees in a 1995 playoff.
The image was taken 17 years ago Monday – Oct. 8, 1995. The video is me talking about behind the scenes. Seems like yesterday!

Snatam Kaur - Earth's Prayer
My first music video I've ever directed/photographed was released a few days ago! It's of my favorite artist, Snatam Kaur, who performs Indian devotional music. I reached out to her a couple of years ago when my Mom was receiving chemo and radiation treatments. Her music got me through this incredibly difficult time and has changed my life. I hope you can take a moment and receive her amazing gift.

My life has gone to the dogs
I have said it before, I have the best job and feel like the luckiest person in the world. That being said, my life has gone to the dogs, in a good way!
The Nate Berkus Show is featuring a segment on Oprah's house and something I photographed for her is one of her favorite things! Her beautiful dogs.
Oprah mentions it here on her 30-day countdown video and here on Huffington Post Media page.

Nikon
I represented Nikon Inc of the United States as a judge in Tokyo back in February at the The Nikon Photo Contest International 2010-2011.
From Nikon's site:
"We recently announced the judges who’ll be selecting all the prizes in each category plus one grand prize. They consist of several seasoned Nikon photography experts plus some of the world’s best known photographers, including Vincent Munier and Robin Layton."
We took the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto weeks before the earthquake. I took some dreamy photos on that train ride! Go see more images of Japan.
